His Muslim neighbours expose him saying he is levelling baseless allegation to defame country
A fundamentalist to the core, Mohammad Hasnain along with his son Ishaq Amir, who were resident of East Delhi, had fled to Pakistan illegally and after reaching there, levelled allegations of religious persecution in India, which several people in his erstwhile neighbourhood contested as “pure lie” and said the father-son duo has become part of larger conspiracy.
Before coming to Delhi Husnain was a resident of Jamshedpur in Jharkhand, where he worked in Tata steel plant. Even his brother Ibrar had also fled from Jamshedpur to Pakistan after being accused of corruption in Tata Steel’s finance department about 38 years ago.
After going to Pakistan, Hasnain has been alleging religious persecution in India through several Pakistan media sources. But his neighbours in Delhi have been dismissive of his claims, saying no such things are happening here and this is part of a conspiracy.
Before illegally fleeing to Pakistan, he had formed a party named Qaumi Party of India to strengthen his influence among Muslims and tried to portray himself as the protector of his community, but people did not fall victim to his design.
Former Seelampur MLA Chaudhary Matin Ahmed is reported to have said that going to Pakistan secretly is a betrayal of one’s country. “In India, people of all communities have been living together in brotherhood for years. In the year 2008, Mohammad Hasnain had contested the elections against me, which he had lost.”
At the same time, Jaffrabad RWA General Secretary Dr. Faheem Baig is also reported to have said that the father-son duo, who had illegally infiltrated into Pakistan, have alleged that atrocities are meted out on Muslims in India. “This is absolutely wrong. Both father and son are fundamentalists. Prime Minister Narendra Modi should rein in such religious fundamentalists as soon as possible,” he noted.
In 2014, he had also contested the Lok Sabha elections from North Eastern district against BJP’s Manoj Tiwari. During the campaign Hasnain tried his best to promote fundamentalism, by calling himself the protector of Muslims.
However, he could not succeed, as only a few people got associated with him. After this he left India and went to Pakistan. One of the neighbours Mahfooz reportedly said that during the elections he often used to give statements with regard to the plight of Muslims in India.
His neighbours in the East Delhi area suspect that both Hasnain and his son Aamir are victims of some conspiracy and are making wild allegations to defame the country. “Otherwise, who goes to seek shelter in Pakistan, which is already in disrepair, full of oppression and terrorism,” said another neighbour.
Rashid Masoori, the owner of the house where Hasnain used to live with his son, has reportedly said that he had given him a room about seven-eight months ago. “Earlier he lived on another street in the same area. Husnain’s allegation angers him. As information about his allegations is spreading in the area, people are talking about it,” he added.
