Θυμάμαι Μάνα
Θυμάμαι τ΄ αφρατένιο χέρι σου
να πνίγει το δικό μου.
Βήματα ασταθή κι ανήσυχα
έκανα πρώτη μου φορά.
Θυμάμαι το βαμβακένιο επίθεμα
να κλείνει τη πληγή μου
κι εσύ να σκύβεις να μου το φιλάς.
Πίσω στα χώματα έπεσα
εκεί κι εσύ με πλένεις.
Θυμάμαι γλυκειά σου τη φωνή
να λέει μου παραμύθια.
Πάντα εγώ ήμουν η χαρά
εγώ και η αλήθεια.
Θυμάμαι με νανούριζες
σαν μια μικρή νεράϊδα.
Ήθελα πάντα από παιδί
όλο φιλιά, όλο χάδια.
Κι΄ όταν γλυκά σ’ αγκάλιαζα
δεν ήξερα θα σώσει
αυτό τ’ ολόγλυκο φιλί
κάποτε θα τελειώσει.

I remember, Mother
I remember your fluffy hand.
drowning mine.
Steps unstable and restless
When I walked for the first time.
I remember the cotton patch.
closing my wound
And you bend over kissing me.
Back in the dirt I fell
and there were you washing me.
I remember your sweet voice.
telling me stories.
I’ve always been the joy,
I and the truth.
I remember you lullabying me.
like a little fairy.
I’ve always wanted as a child
Kissing and caressing.
And when I sweetly hugged you
I didn’t know I’d save
that sweet kiss.

About the Poet
Olga P. Ahimastos was born in Athens from her father born in the Ionian Island Lefkas and a mother coming from Ismir Turkey (Smyrna) when it was Greek. She grew up in a neighborhood full of chamomiles and lemon trees, open spaces and flowers. Throughout her basic education she studied Byzantine music and orthophony for several years. She was in the choir of the metropolis of the area.
She attended an Economics school, obtained foreign language degrees and served in the private sector in multinational companies in key positions. She did countless seminars and dealt with many other subjects, psychology in particular. She went to a school of aesthetic beauty and health counseling, about her physical treatment and dietary supplements. She always wrote… She edited and wrote in improvised newspapers that she published about the activities of her colleagues in the companies she worked for.
Her book named “…kardioschema” it’s her first poetry collection. Going out into the world of Literature, she has participated so far in competitions, has won A and C Awards and several distinctions, praises and has participated in many Poetry Anthologies in Greece and abroad. The translations of her poems are done by her in English. Her dream is to travel to Peru and Spain – Portugal and translate her book into Spanish.
Currently, she is the secretary of the Experimental Museum of Literature and the Association of Speech, Music and Art “Linos” and participates as an editor in the artistic blog https://e-musa.gr.
