Threatens to stop prayer meeting as the locality is a Muslim-majority area
Two radicalised Muslim youths on Saturday (May 2) attacked Swami Sadhu Krishnanda Saraswati and asked him to stop the prayer meeting at the temple associated with his ashram in Periyambalam, Thrissur district.

In a complaint to the police, the swami stated: “When the regular prayer meeting was going on, two local youths came on a bike and asked us stop the prayers as the area was a Muslim-majority one.” According to the complainant, they issued death threats also.
The swami, in the complaint, stated that communal harmony exists in the area surrounding the ashram. “It is very painful that these elements were trying to vitiate the communal atmosphere here by such action provoking Hindus,” the swami said. According to the swami, the youths did not reveal their names.
It is learnt that the police have not yet acted on the victim’s complaint. Indus Scrolls representative’s efforts to contact the victim failed as his mobile phone was switched off.
Latest: The incident sparked outrage in the locality. Egged on by some prominent citizens in the locality, the accused persons tendered unconditional apology to the swami who requested his followers and Hindus to forgive them.
