‘Shaakuntalam’, an upcoming film based on Kalidasa’s popular play ‘Shakuntala’, will hit the theatres on February 17. Now the makers have decided to release the film also in 3D to ensure a new and exciting experience for the viewers.
Actress Samantha is playing the titular role of Shakuntala in the film and actor Dev Mohan, who became popular through ‘Sufiyum Sujathayum’, as Dushyanta. The film is written and directed by Gunasekhar. This film has a big budget as compared to other women centric films.
Reportedly, Aditi Balan will be seen as Anasuya and Mohan Babu as Sage Durvasa. The film also has an excellent cast including Sachin Khedekar, Kabir Bedi, Madhubala, Gauthami, Ananya Nagalla and Jishu Sengupta. Allu Arjun’s daughter Allu Arha also plays a major role in the film, which is another attraction in the star cast.
Music direction is by Mani Sharma. Cinematography by Shekhar V Joseph and editing by Praveen Pudi. The film presented by Dil Raju is being produced by Neelima Guna under the banner of Guna Team Works. Apart from Telugu, the film will be dubbed in Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada and Hindi languages.
