Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has urged all other state governments to not charge train fare from migrant workers of Uttar Pradesh. He said that the state government is bearing the fare of all the migrants being brought back.
Reviewing the Lockdown arrangements Chief Minister said that his government has already ensured safe and secured return of about 16 lakh migrants so far. Out of a total of 914 trains arranged, 656 ‘shramik special trains’ have already brought back 8.52 lakh migrants while 258 are scheduled to arrive in next two days. The state government has also deployed 12,000 buses to send them to their home districts. In addition to this, 200 buses in each district are kept at the disposal of district magistrates of all 75 districts.
The CM said that the problems of migrants shall be solved by the nodal officers having been sent to various districts. State government has also decided to make arrangements of CCTV cameras and pulse oximeter in all quarantine centres.
