About 25 demonstrators of the pro-Pakistan, anti-Hindu outfit, Organisation for Minorities in India (OFMI), had staged a protest against US Hindu Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard who is seeking the Democratic nomination for presidential election in 2020 in Los Angeles, CA on March 30.
OFMI, a notoriously Hindu-phobic organisation based in the US, has been supporting all secessionist movements in India and spreading canards in campuses and other public forums. The outfit is suspected to be funded by Pakistan’s notorious spy agency ISI.
The demonstrators carried banners reading “Tulsi, Princess of the RSS” and “Stop Supporting Fascism in India”. The organisation claimed that participants included Christians, Dalits, and Sikhs.
The protesters also distributed pamphlets saying that Gabbard is “an ally of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).” “The RSS is a paramilitary in India which was founded in 1925 and grew with inspiration from the Nazis and Italian Fascists. They have created affiliated groups all over the world. Today, they rule India through the BJP political party,” stated the pamphlet.
Gabbard had come to attend a function hosted at the First Unitarian Church of Los Angeles, where she spoke about her future plans.
At the question-answer session after her speech, Pieter Friedrich, an analyst of South Asian affairs, asked about her ties with RSS. “Vijay Pallod of Texas is a leader in RSS-affiliated groups in the USA, and he confirms that he met you through Michael Brannon Parker. In your first two terms in office, you also met the RSS spokesperson at least three times. And you spoke at many RSS events, including two in India. When did your collaboration with the RSS begin and how much money have they given you?”
To this Gabbard said, “I’m a soldier, and I took an oath. One oath in my life. That was an oath to serve and protect this country, to put my life on the line for the people of this country. “We stand for aloha, we stand for diversity, we stand for peace. Thank you everybody for standing with me.”
