A forest range officer was attacked by a tiger near Pulpally region in Wayanad district. T Sasi Kumar, a range officer at Chethalayam, was attacked by a tiger at 3.30 pm on Sunday.
The incident took place during a search for the tiger that had entered a human inhabited area. A group of forest officials including local residents were searching the area after the news broke that a tiger had entered Kolavalli.
Sasikumar has been admitted to a private hospital in Wayanad. His injuries are not critical.
Kolavalli is an area near the Karnataka border near Kabini river. The tiger came from the other side of the river. Locals and forest officials have been searching the tiger for the last 5 days. It had killed several domestic animals in the last few days.
