As the hunt continues for anti-national forces within the country, three Maoists were killed in an encounter in Chhattisgarh with security forces in Sukma district on Saturday.
Police said, the gun-battle took place around 6 PM in a forest near Tadmetla-Mukram nullah under Chintalnar police station area when a team of District Reserve Guard was out on patrolling.
They said, on getting information that Naxals have dug up a road near Tadmetla, security forces launched the operation in the area. Many weapons including a rifle were recovered from the spot.
Two Naxals were killed by the police in an encounter in Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra today.
The encounter took place in Gyarapatti jungle area falling under Korchi taluka of the district.Superintendent of Police, Shailesh Balkawde, said a police squad had started an anti-Naxal campaign yesterday, and the gunfight broke out on Sunday morning.
Two bodies of the Naxals were found at the encounter site.
