Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu today said all the States and Centre must act in the spirit of Team India to ensure the fruits of development reach the most deserved in the country. He asked the young officers of All India Services and other central services to be agents of change for fast-tracking the progress of the country.
The Vice President was interacting with the officers of the All India Services, Central Civil Services and Military Engineer Services, who are attending the Foundation Courses at the Marri Chenna Reddy Institute of Human Resource Development in Hyderabad.
The Vice President asked the young officers to play a key role in addressing challenges like poverty, illiteracy, corruption and lack of basic amenities in many rural areas. Calling upon the young officers to maintain high level of integrity and accountability, Mr Naidu asked them to develop empathy and to be humane to serve the last person in the society.
Stating that the country has made impressive strides on social, economic, health and other indicators since Independence, he said, the need of the hour for every stakeholder is to contribute to accelerate growth and to ensure inclusive growth.
Stating that India remained a bright spot despite global slowdown, Mr Naidu said, good governance is one of the key elements for the country to achieve the desired growth trajectory. He further asked the officials to adopt best global practices by adopting to the local needs and strive for reducing urban and rural divide. Over 200 officials of AIS, CCS and Military Engineering probationers have attended the programme.
