UP police have arrested 3 cattle smugglers who brutally raped a 10-year-old in Etah district of UP. Though after the heinous act, the accused managed to escape, the police arrested them soon after the incident, reports say.
As per reports, on 25 August, three Muslim men in the wee hours approached a house Awagadh area near Etah for stealing cattle. When they failed in their attempt, they found a 10-year-old girl sleeping on a cot along with her baby sister in the open area. The three men took the victim to the nearby field and brutally gang-raped the little girl.
Parents of the victim came to know about the incident when the girl returned home bleeding profusely from the abdomen. The girl was rushed to the nearby community health centre after informing the police. She was referred to Aligarh for further treatment.
During the investigation, police found the blood-soaked blanket used in the rape and also the rope brought by the thieves to steal the buffaloes. A forensic has been assigned to collect samples from the accused and the victim, said the police officer.
The three accused identified as Arif Khan of Nadrai, Kasganj district, Israr and Kalua Khan of Agra district has been charged under IPC section 376 (D) (Gangrape), 363 (punishment for kidnapping) and POCSO Act, revealed Sunil Kumar Singh, Etah Superintendent of Police.
There is an increasing number of cattle smuggling in the country who are also involved in violent crimes, however, most of the incidents escape the attention of media or conveniently ignored.
