Kozhikode (Kerala): Protests intensifies as Madhyamam, the newspaper of Jamaat-e-Islami in Kerala defame Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Hinduism. The newspaper today portrayed Nirmala Sitharaman as the furious goddess of Indian mythology Bhadrakali riding on a farmer. This has evoked widespread criticism condemned as anti-Hindu and anti-woman.
The newspaper slams minister Nirmala Sita Raman in the headline ‘Treason’ with the sole aim of criticizing the Union Budget. There has been criticism in the social media that a minister, who is also a woman, has been portrayed as a complete anti-woman by treading on another person. While the central budget focuses on several social welfare projects, there are many women empowerment initiatives too.
