The number of coronavirus cases in India rises to 81, which includes one death each from Delhi and Karnataka. Researchers, studying the coronavirus, report that the time between cases in a chain of transmission is less than a week, and over 10 percent of patients are infected by someone who has the virus but does not show symptoms yet.
Preventive restrictions have been put in place across the country to restrict the spread of the novel coronavirus. Rajasthan Government has decided to keep close all schools, colleges, coaching centers, gyms, cinemas and theaters etc. till March 30.
In Maharashtra, the state government has ordered the closure of cinema theatres, gymnasiums, swimming pools and public parks in cities of Mumbai, Thane, Navi Mumbai, Nagpur, Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad till March 30. It also invoked the Epidemic Diseases Act of 1897 to tackle the virus outbreak.
In Bihar, the state Health Minister Mangal Pandey said the strict vigil is being maintained along the Indo-Nepal border to check the entry of Coronavirus affected people in the state. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has said people of the state not to be worried about Coronavirus as the government is on high . The state government has cancelled leaves of doctors and staff of health officials in view of the Coronavirus outbreak.
The Uttar Pradesh government has also declared the closure of all schools and colleges where the examination process is not going on till 22 March. Isolation wards have been set up in all the 75 districts and medical staff of doctors, paramedical, the nursing staff is being provided with the necessary training.

The Karnataka state government has issued strict protocol restricting any event of large gathering in the state. Except for scheduled exams and colleges, there have been no regular classes. Cinema halls, clubs and marriage halls have been shut.
In Assam, the Chief Secretary Kumar Sanjay Krishna said that all steps have been taken in the state to prevent the outbreak of the Coronavirus. Talking to AIR Correspondent, Mr. Krishna said that the Deputy Commissioners have been instructed to discourage mass gathering.
In Madhya Pradesh, the state government has closed all academic institutions and cinema halls till further orders as a precautionary measure against coronavirus pandemic.

In Andhra Pradesh, as one person has tested positive for coronavirus in Nellore city in Sri Potti Sriramulu Nellore District, the Andhra Pradesh Government is taking all precautionary measures to face the epidemic. Thus, a 24x 7 Control Room has been set up with the phone number 0866- 2410978 and 104 Help Line (Toll-Free Number ) has also been operationalized to provide health advice on Covid-19. The AP State Government also issued a health advisory to the public.
Telangana state government is likely to take important decisions to contain the spread of Coronavirus. The state cabinet will be meeting at 6 this evening, to take decisions in tune with the Central Government’s directions in this regard. Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao informed the state Assembly of the meeting today during a short duration discussion over measures to prevent Corona Virus spread. One person tested positive for Corona Virus in the state has been treated at Gandhi Hospital in Hyderabad and discharged last evening. Over 50 thousand, both domestic and international passengers are being screened every day at the International Airport in Hyderabad.
