Even as the Kerala government trying every nasty trick to keep senior BJP leader K Surendran behind the bars by imposing fake cases, the police are yet to arrest controversial Muslim activist Rehana Fathima, despite her anticipatory bail plea being rejected by the Kerala High Court two weeks ago. She faces a case for hurting religious sentiments of Hindus. The case relates to a Facebook post in which she posted objectionable pictures and messages. The complaint was filed by BJP leader B Radhakrishna Menon.
The high court made it clear that Fathima’s application for the anticipatory bail is rejected hence police could go ahead with its action against her.
Fathima now travels the length and breadth of the state publicly and participate in public programmes. The other day she addressed a public meeting in Attappadi, the tribal habitat in Palakkat distriict.
While the police put BJP leader K. Surendran and Hindu Aikya Vedi president and woman leader KP Sasikala Teacher behind the bars on their way to Sabarimala, they developed cold feet when it came to the arrest of Fathima, a BSNL employee. She was taken to Sabarimala escorted by about 100 police personnel led by IG of Police. Many customers of BSNL raised objection to her presence in BSNL. Following outrage, BSNL shifted her to another office where public dealing was minimal.
