It was decided today that no action would be taken against KK Rema MLA who was sworn in wearing a badge with TP Chandrasekharan’s picture. It is against the law to wear badges and other holdings when taking an oath. However, it is reported that the Speaker has decided not to take any action as he is a new member.
However, KK Rema said that there was a motive behind wearing the badge with TP Chandrasekharan’s picture on it. “I wanted the message against killing dissidents to be given in the sanctum sanctorum of democracy”, she said. In an interview with an online media outlet, she said that it was important to carry out that task when the opportunity arose where the prominent people of the political party that led it were seated and it was indeed TP who came in front of them at the Assembly.
KK Rema wanted TP Chandrasekharan to be with her when she was sworn in as a member of the Kerala Legislative Assembly. “I was sworn in with TP. It was TP who came to the House. Voters in Vadakara voted for comrade TP Chandrasekharan as well. The brutal murder of that man is grief that always lingers in their minds. No one can forget that face. When I first came to the assembly with the people who led it, I decided to come with him”, KK Rema said.
“Pinarayi Vijayan was the party secretary who insulted the slain TP Chandrasekharan by saying he was a renegade. This Assembly entry is the answer given to such a person. When I was in the assembly, Comrade TP was standing in front of Pinarayi Vijayan”, Rema added.
