The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Tuesday arrested Bineesh Kodiyeri in the Bengaluru drugs case.
Earlier, Bineesh was under Enforcement Directorate custody in connection with the case.
NCB officials came to the Parappana Agrahara Central Prison and arrested Bineesh. He was arrested by ED for money laundering in connection with the case in August.
The NCB had registered the case naming three accused including two Keralites. Mohammed Anoop, the second accused in the case is a Keralite and a friend of Bineesh Kodiyeri.
It is learnt that Anoop Mohammed’s statement trapped Bineesh. Anoop Mohammed had stated that Bineesh had provided financial assistance to him. Now, Bineesh has become an accused in the case.
Once the arrest procedure is completed, Bineesh will be taken to the NCB office for interrogation. Reports suggested that probe agencies have learnt that both Bineesh and Anoop Mohammed were involved in drugs trade.
