It is rather like a story when we hear the narration of the tribal girl who escaped from death recently. Perhaps similar to a fairytale, she but leaves a lot of questions unanswered that the people in Kerala believe the police will unveil soon. The story goes on like this:
It was on Thursday, 11 July 2020 two girls found missing from their homes. The next day one among the girls, a 17-year-old girl of Kulamankuzhi tribal settlement at Valara near Adimali was found hanging near her house, while her relative, a 21-year-old girl in the same settlement, was hospitalised after consuming poison.
Both the girls were reported missing after Krishna Priya was reportedly chided by her mother for using a mobile phone. The Adimali police had registered a man-missing case and launched an investigation, but the girls returned home by Saturday morning.
To complete the formalities when the relatives were planning to produce them before the Adimali police, the 17-year-old girl was found hanging on a tree near her house. Hearing about the death of the girl, the 21-year-old girl reportedly consumed poison and was admitted to a government hospital in Ernakulam.
Though the girl’s condition was critical, Kerala Police has now managed to record the statement of the girl who survived the suicide attempt. Even the policemen were astonished to hear what she said!
The girl confessed that her friend committed suicide because her parents were constantly fighting over her phone. Parents say that the girl was spending most of her time on a phone, but swear that they didn’t provide her with a device so. They believe that the girl has got some connections with a few youths in the neighbourhood.
After escaping from home, both the girls spent the whole night in a hollow tree and the next day upon a nearby rock. The girl revealed that her friend was insisting on ending up lives together, however made up their mind to return home. It was after hearing news of the death of the 17-year-old, her friend too drinks poison.
There is a lot to be revealed about the incident, however, a team of police officers from Adimali Station is investigating the case. The number of minors killing themselves is increasing in the country’s most literate state, however, the experts are still seeking the answers for these questions.
