A group of goons belonging to Islamist outfit SDPI barged into the house of BJP leader Ranjit Sreenivasan and hacked him to death in front of his family members, in Alappuzha, Kerala on early Sunday morning (on December 19).
He was killed minutes before he was leaving for morning walk. Ranjit is the state president of BJP OBC Morcha. This is the second murder in Alappuzha of persons associated with RSS-BJP by SDPI goons.
Kerala has become a breeding ground of Islamists. Kerala BJP president K Surendran said the murder shows the failure of the government to curb the activities of Islamists who have raised a Taliban model jihadi group to undertake violent assault. He said the state police have failed to put up vigil. “The murder has taken place in an area where there have been tension between CPI(M) and SDPI. The CPI(M) is trying to blame BJP for violence to hide the former’s role. Popular Front is trying to create communal tension in the state by political murders. The police have been supporting Islamists. The Home Ministry has failed to curb violence,” he added.
Meanwhile, Union Ministers V Muraleedharan and Rajeev Chandrasekhar have condemned the murder of BJP leader Ranjit.
