Home Minister Amit Shah has said that the Union Government is committed to provide health facilities to all people across the country. He stated the government intends to create health facilities like All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi in every state. He was addressing the Second Convocation Ceremony of AIIMS, Rishikesh in Dehradun today.
AIR Correspondent reports, Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan, HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank and Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat were also present to grace the ceremony.
While addressing the ceremony, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said, Central Government has provided health facility to 130 crore people, which is unprecedented. He stated, the BJP-led Government at the Centre has created 29 thousand medical seats across the county, under the vision ‘Health for All’.
Emphasizing on adequate infrastructure, he said, the Union Government is stressing that every village of the country should have one doctor whereas one Post -Graduate doctor should be available at Tehsil level.
While praising the performance of AIIMS, Rishikesh, Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan said, AIIMS is playing a significant role in providing health facilities to one and all. Congratulating the passing out students, he said that the medical profession gives them a noble opportunity to serve humanity.
During the convocation, 252 students were conferred with degrees whereas 132 students awarded certificates. In view of the Coronavirus threat, thermal screening was also carried out for invitees attending the ceremony.
