Seeking support from Indonesia, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan rang up Indonesian President Joko Widodo on Monday. However, the social media laughs at the same and says Imran Khan wouldn’t have called Indonesian president if he knew the name of his grandson. Showing his love and respect he had named his grandson Jan Ethes Srinarendra.
Khan informed President Widodo that the state of Jammu and Kashmir remained under a complete clampdown and that there was a serious risk of innocent Kashmiris getting killed in large numbers as a result of enhanced repression by Indian security forces. According to reports, he stressed that the international community was duty-bound to act to prevent any such calamity from happening.
Earlier in March 2018, Indonesian President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo had shared an interesting detail about his family with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and told him that his grandson is also named after him. Born in March 2016, to Widodo’s eldest son Gibran Rakabuming, the grandson was named Jan Ethes Srinarendra. The candid exchange happened during PM Modi’s first-ever visit to Indonesia.
The response of Indonesia’s president to Imran Khan’s request is not yet known, however, social media is busy sharing the news laughing at the Pak prime minister’s ‘futile’ attempts to seek support on J&K issue.
