The National Investigation Agency (NIA), which is investigating the terror angle in Kerala’s Love Jihad cases, has found that Shefin Jahan was in regular contact with Islamic State operatives in the state. “Interrogation of IS operatives arrested from Kannur revealed that he was in regular touch with them. He was in the thick of things,” said a police official. Sources in the NIA have also confirmed the information.
Another police official said Shefin was an active member of extremist organizations like the Popular Front of India. However, it is not immediately known whether he would be arrested.
Speaking to indusscrolls.com, Rajendran, the lawyer of Hadiya’s father Ashokan, said the latest revelations vindicate the stance of the parents that terror elements were behind the conversion and the marriage drama of their daughter.
Jamida Teacher, Secretary of the Quran Sunnat Society, has also alleged that extremist groups like Popular Front of India were behind many fraudulent conversions taking place in the state. Jamida Teacher had revealed that concerted efforts are being taken by radical Islamic organizations to trap Hindu-Christian girls into love affairs and convert them for using them for terror activities.
