The four-day celebrations of Chhath Puja concluded this morning with devotees offering prayers to the rising sun in different parts of the country.
After offering prayers to Sun God, devotees broke their 36-hour fast and Prasad was distributed among the people.
In Bihar, devotees had started gathering at Ghats of various rivers including Ganga, Kosi, Gandak and Sone early this morning.
Chhath festival is being celebrated in neighbouring Nepal with religious fervour and gaiety. Lakhs of devotees offered prayers to setting Sun on the banks of rivers, ponds and water reservoirs in various parts of the country.
Nepal President Bidya Devi Bhandari and Vice President Nand Bahadur Pun also participated in Chhath festival in Kathmandu. Thousands of devotees offered Arghya to setting Sun at the banks of Bagmati and Bishnumati rivers and various ponds in Kathmandu valley.
