In the wake of India-China faceoff at Ladakh on the Line of Actual Control, Chinese Foreign Minister said ‘Elephant and Dragon can dance together’. Days after agreeing to disengage, Chinese troops mounted unprovoked attacks on Indian troops, killing as many as 20 jawans.
On Wednesday, Global Times has published an illustration showing a panda, clad in red dress, saluting a visibly confused but smiling blue elephant in green suits, while a small boy in T-shirt and shorts holding a banner which read: ‘Boycott’.
The Chinese attack on Indian men in uniform has triggered a huge outrage across India with people calling for boycott of Chinese goods. The government has also asked departments and ministries not to consider Chinese firms for contracts.
