In a strong warning, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that strict law will be brought against ‘love jihad’ incidents.
Referring to the Allahabad high court order which said religious conversion is not a criteria for marriage, CM Adityanath said, “I warn those who conceal identity and play with the respect of our sisters. If you don’t mend your ways, your ‘Ram naam satya’ journey will begin.”
The Uttar Pradesh government has been mulling an ordinance against ‘love jihad’ for a long time, reports said.
The Chief Minister highlighted on the recently launched Operation Shakti for women security in the state and said that his government is committed to protect the honour of women at any cost.
