Campaigning has reached its peak for the fifth and final phase of Assembly elections in Jharkhand. 16 constituencies in Santhal Pargana area will go to polls in this phase on the 20th of this month. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address an election rally at Bhognadih in Sahebganj district this afternoon. JMM, Jharkhand Vikas Morcha and AJSU leaders are also addressing public meetings to woo the voters for their party candidates.
Addressing an election meeting at Jama in Dumka, Senior BJP leader and Chief Minister Raghubar Das claimed that people of the state has rejected false promises of opposition parties in four phases of elections in the state. Mr Das said people want development and only BJP could deliver it. Criticizing Congress UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanatha said Congress has nothing to do with development of the state.
On the other hand State in-charge of Jharkhand Congress, RPN Singh alleged that BJP is responsible for unemployment and problems of farmers in the state. Seeking votes in favour of grand alliance JMM executive President Heman Soren said if his alliance is voted to power paddy will be purchased from farmer at the rate of rupees 2700 per quintal and government job will be provided to each family. AJSU chief Sudesh Kumar Mahto said his government will not let NRC to be implemented in Jharkhand. Leaders of RJD and left parties are also addressing election meeting in favour of their party candidates.
