The Punjab police have recovered weapons from the goons who attacked cops brutally on Sunday for enforcing COVID-19 lockdown. The weapons includes swords, pistols, and petrol. 7 people linked to the incident have been arrested.
In a shocking incident, a group of people reportedly Nihangs attacked police officers at a vegetable market in Patiala today morning. They chopped off a police officer’s hand and the other two officers got injured in the clash.
The officer, Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police Harjeet Singh – has been taken to the hospital, where the doctors are operating on him. The attack resulted when the police officers were ensuring lockdown in the region. According to sources all the accused have been arrested.
“They were asked to show (curfew) passes. But they crashed the vehicle against the gate and barricades put up there,” Senior Superintendent of Police, Patiala, Mandeep Singh Sidhu said.
