Facebook is going to unblock Australian news outlets on its platform after the Government agreed to amend the proposed Media Bargaining Law.
Last week, Facebook has decided to blackout news content from its social networking site in Australia due to the Government’s new media bargaining laws, forcing the technology giant to pay for the news that is shared on their site.
“Australian news will be restored to Facebook in the coming days. Facebook has committed to entering into good faith negotiations with Australian news media businesses to reach agreements to pay for content,” tweeted Josh Frydenberg.
He further tweeted, “In a positive development this afternoon, Seven West Media has announced a commercial partnership with Facebook to provide news content across their metro & regional media platforms.”
