The Kerala High Court on Monday slammed the state government on the Sprinklr deal. The court directed the government to check whether the privacy of the data has been ensured in the contract.
The government responded that it had sought the help of the company for data analysis. The HC responded by asking that is the government incapable of handling the data of only over 2 lakh people. The court further questioned that whether the government does not have its own IT department.
The HC demanded the government’s advocate to report to the court within 15 minutes if data was still being produced to Sprinklr and privacy if the data has been ensured. Only after that the HC will make a decision and will issue an interim order if needed.
It is the responsibility of the government to ensure the privacy of the individual. The court said that the government should be prepared to convince the High Court on clear grounds.
