It was well known and well established that Jawaharlal Nehru nurtured utter contempt for Sanatana Dharma as he is said to be and widely believed to born to Muslim parents, not yet contradicted by Congress officially. All his decisions, preferences and actions affirm and re-affirm his hatred for Sanatana Dharma. By his own confession, institutions like Mandira-s repelled him away while a ‘Murda-Kabra’ with a ‘Mazar’ over it, known as Taj Mahal was a ‘delight to his eyes and mind’. Prof. Raja Rao, author of ‘The Meaning Of India’ (Was Discovery Of India by Nehru plagiarized or ghost authored ?) met him in Germany in 1935 with his so-called wife Kamla Nehru admitted to a sanatorium for treatment of TB. Their lunch-on conversation about God proceeded as under as narrated by the author –
‘You certainly believe in something, Panditji? In some form of Deity, in philosophy?’
‘Deity, what Deity?’ He twitched angrily. ‘Why Siva and Parvati, Sri Krishna! Three thousand years of that and where’s that got us— slavery, poverty.’
‘And incomparable splendor, even today.’
‘What, with twenty-two-and-a-half years of life expectancy and five pice per person per day of national income? We’ve had enough of Rama and Krishna. Not that I do not admire these great figures of our traditions, but there’s work to be done. And not to clasp hands before idols while misery and slavery beleaguer us.’
The conversation revealed monumental ignorance of the last Mughal Nehru about our glorious history, how it was ravaged and plundered by foreign invaders. Nehru was completely unaware of root-causes of the decline as well as who in reality, caused root-causes. He had probably never heard about foreign travellers like Megasthenes and Hvena Tsang who had mentioned our excellence in every discipline of life in their travelogues. How is it possible that Cambridge University educated (?) Jawaharlal Nehru, student of Humanities (he was certainly not there to study Nuclear Physics or Aerospace Engineering !!), was not aware of ‘A Case Of India’ authored by an American historian Will Durant wherein he declared, British occupation of Bharata was the worst crime in history ?? How is that Nehru did not know that 30% of world GDP was contributed by Bharata by the time of first Mughal invasion, was reduced to 5% by the time of exit of British occupiers ? What did he then ‘discover’ in his ‘Discovery of India’ ? His pettiness was at its nadir when he declared so pompously, “I am the last Englishman to rule India.” British did well for themselves by planting the Hindu-hater as their successor to colonize Bharata indirectly and their sordid legacy was thus, perpetuated.
Same anti-Hindu pathological contempt was at its worst in the episode of renovation of Shri Somnath Mandira, Gujarat. One of twelve Jyotirlinga Tirtha-s, first raised before CE i.e. BCE, it was raided and plundered six times, first by an Arab Junayed of Sind in 725 CE, by Mahmud of Ghazni in 1024 CE, by Allauddin Khilji in 1296 CE, by Muzaffar Shah in 1375 CE, by Mehmud Begda in 1451 CE and finally by Auranzeb in 1701 CE. However after every invasion and destruction, historic shrine was majestically raised again. When Union Home Minister Sardar Patel shared his dream to restore lost glory of Somnath Mandira with MK Gandhi, he was advised to invite people to contribute financially although he had never so advised him or Nehru for renovation of Islamic ruins. After all, he was political mentor of Nehru, both drunk with pro-Islamic secularism !! Mecca born first Education Minister of Bharata albeit illiterate, went a step further by suggesting, Somnath ruins be handed over to Archaeological Survey Of India to be preserved as such as a historic site !!
Unfortunately Sardar Patel did not live to see re-construction and consecration of Somnath Mandira. The responsibility devolved upon his Cabinet colleague KM Munshi who happened to be a suave, cultured and erudite scholar misunderstood by Nehru as being susceptible to his Mechiavellian manipulations. In response to Nehrus snarls, “It is Hindu revivalism”, KM Munshi responded firmly, “It is my faith in the past which has given me the strength to work in the
present and to look forward to our future. I cannot value freedom if it deprives us of the Bhagavad Gita or uproots our millions from the faith with which they look upon our temples and thereby destroys the texture of our lives…”. Nehrus pro-Islamic and anti-Hindu secularism bared itself again in strong words when the then President Dr. Rajendra Prasad accepted KM Munshis invitation to solemnise ‘Prana-Pratishtha’ of Shri Somnath Mandira, “I confess that I do not like the idea of your associating yourself with a spectacular opening of the Somnath Temple. This is not merely visiting a temple, which can certainly be done by you or anyone else, but rather participating in a significant function which unfortunately has a number of implications…”. Not only that but also Nehru complained to Rajaji too, about wayward non-secular conduct of President Dr. Rajendra Prasad !! To quell the furore raised by the last Mughal Nehru, President responded gracefully, “I would do the same thing with a mosque or a church if I were invited…Our State is neither religious nor anti-religious.” And his brilliant speech delivered after the Anushthana at the shrine was completely blacked out at the instance of the venomous last Mughal by All India Radio.
