As more ministers are resigning from Yogi Adityanath’s Cabinet, Union Minister Amit Shah has taken charge of UP election campaigns. Shah was in charge of 2017 elections in which the party won more than 300 seats out of total 403 seats.
The decision was taken to lessen the involvement of Yogi Adityanath who serves as a face of extreme Hindutva ideology as per national media reports. The party high command has also objected his decision to contest from Ayodhya due to the same reason.
Currently, list of 107 candidates have been published. During last elections, presence of OBC leaders and votes of backward classes played a major role for BJP’S success but this year political analysts expects a fall in that vote share. As per party’s recent decision, Adityanath contests from Gorakhpur constituency.
