In Jharkhand, 64 IEDs and cane-bombs planted to harm the security forces by Naxalites have been destroyed today by the CRPF and police personnel under Guilkera police station area. This has been another major blow to the Naxal activities going on in the West Singhbhum district of the state in the month of June.
SP Chaibasa Indrajit Mahatha has informed media that explosives, detonators and IEDs in massive numbers had been planted on earthen roads near Meralgada and Kueida forest region. Search operation for Maoists are being conducted by the police forces near Sandiburu hills, while the explosives and bombs found in large numbers have been diffused by the forces. No security personnel has been harmed in the firing operations. The search operation by the forces is still ongoing in the forest area.
Meanwhile, an encounter between the police and Tritya Prastuti Committee (TPC) militants took place in Palamu district this morning in the forest areas under Manatu police station area of the district. Several rounds of fire were fired and many weapons were recovered during this period. The police is conducting search operation on the spot of encounter.
