The stranded US citizens in India are now not willing to return to their country. Many of those who applied for airlift to return home now want to stay in India, US officials revealed. The report comes as the US is ‘aggressively’ trying to get their citizen back in the country.
Foreign Affairs Minister Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs Lean Brown Lee said on Tuesday that they had earlier invited application from US citizen to be airlifted in which a number of people had responded too.
“Those who had already registered for airlift did not respond to the announcement of booking seats on flights arranged by the Foreign Ministry. They were interested in returning home two weeks ago. But now they are not responding, ”Brown said.
The report comes while Covid casualties in the US reach one million. The United States is well on its way to preventing the spread of disease. The US citizen refuses to return home amid criticism of government failure in managing Covid 19.
