Among the total 112 covid 19 patients 12 patients recovered in Kerala, however, 9 new positive cases have been reported, said Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in a media briefing here. The recovered patients are under observation in Thiruvananthapuram and Thrissur.
As many as 76,542 persons are under observation for COVID-19 in state. Among them, 76,010 in houses while 532 are in hospitals. On Wednesday, 122 persons have been added to hospital isolation, CM said.
He also said that Kerala Epidemic Diseases Ordinance 2020 have been approved by cabinet to counter epidemics. It has been decided to recommend to Governor to issue the ordinance.
The law will allow the state government to control events hosted by public and individuals. Using the law, state borders can be closed, public and private transportation can be controlled and social restrictions can be imposed. Also gathering of people in public spaces, religious centres etc can be banned or restricted, he added.
