Noted poet, critic and artist Alfredo Pasolino of Italy is elected as the new president of Writers Capital International Foundation (WCIF). In a press release, Secretary-General Dr Hilal Karahan also said that eminent author and historian from Greece, Katerina Koumlidau will be the new Secretary of the organisation which is operating from more than 37 countries across the world.
A noted writer, literary critic, humanist, and philosopher Alfredo Pasolino was born in Alessandria in Italy. He studied drawing, composition, use of colour, restoration and modern art, at the Albertina Academy of Turin, under the guidance of Giorgio Taddei. A teacher of scientific disciplines at the Secondary Schools, he has been serving several national and international organisations and has held significant positions.
The organisation with its headquarters in Italy is a major literary organisation working on the theme of arts and literature for serving the purpose of humanity. Various programmes are being conducted across the world bringing writers, artists and other artists together for the cause. In a programme on global peace and harmony conducted last year, thousands of artists had joined to celebrate the theme with their poems and artworks. In 2018 he was bestowed with Global Icon of Peace award.
Responding to the appointment, Pasolino said that it was not only a gesture of recognition for him, but also for Italy the country he represents. He also added that a variety of programmes are being planned globally for further spreading the mighty values of humanity. He also said that more efforts are being put for strengthening the youth wing in order to reach the messages of the organisation to people across the world.
