In a veiled reference to Pakistan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit in Kyrgyzstan’s capital Bishkek on Friday said that countries supporting, aiding and funding terrorism must be held accountable.
Addressing the heads of member-countries, which included Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, PM Modi said that India, ever since it became a permanent member of SCO, has given a positive contribution in all its activities. “We have continued engagements to enhance SCO’s role and credibility on the international stage,” PM Modi said.
PM Modi met President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and held bilateral meeting with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani.
Yesterday, PM Modi met Chinese president Xi Jinping and said that Pakistan is yet to take “concrete action” on India’s concerns and create a terror-free atmosphere that is necessary to facilitate any possible engagement between the two sides.
