Continuous heavy rain lashing Nottingham for the last two days is likely to delay the India vs New Zealand cricket world cup match on Thursday (June 13) at Trent Bridge.
Met report suggests that the weather conditions might get worse in Nottingham, as it has been placed under a yellow alert since Monday. There are concerns that the match might be called off. Media reports said many events across the city have been cancelled due to bad weather.
An agency report said the Indian team had to cut short its practice session on Wednesday due to wet patches in the outfield. The ground was slippery.
The met department has predicted more than 50% chances of rain throughout Thursday, making it near impossible for a full fifty over game to take place. The weather is expected to clear out slightly around 10 am local time (scheduled time for toss is 9 am) but rain is expected to return in the afternoon.
