Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan attended the all religion prayer meeting organized in Bhopal on Thursday to pay tribute to the victims on the 36th anniversary of the gas tragedy. He paid tributes to the deceased who lost their lives in the 1984 gas tragedy.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister announced that the pension of widow gas victims would be reintroduced. He said that one thousand rupees life-long pension will be resumed to the Bhopal gas affected Kalyani sisters. The Chief Minister said that it has been decided to revive the pension of Kalyani sisters whose pension was discontinued in 2019 by the then government.
Mr Chouhan also announced the construction of a Gas Tragedy memorial in the capital Bhopal.
The Chief Minister said that today is the day to take a pledge that no other city should become Bhopal again.
