Two trainee pilots were killed after a trainer aircraft crashed on Sunday afternoon. The aircraft crashed in Sultanpur village in Vikarabad district of Telangana.
The trainer plane crashed in an agricultural field killing both the pilots. The aircraft belongs to a private aviation training institute in the city. The reason behind the crash has not been ascertained yet.
The aircraft had taken off from Begumpet Airport in Hyderabad and was on a training sortie. The pilot apparently lost control of the aircraft as it toppled in the air several times before crashing into the cotton fields.
Police rushed to the scene and cordoned off the area. The Aviation Academy’s officials too rushed to the accident site.
Both were students of Rajiv Gandhi Aviation Academy. One of the pilots has been identified as Prakash Vishal. Another pilot, a woman, is yet to be identified.
