In a bid to malign the image of Hindu Aikya Vedi leader, K P Sasikala Teacher, K A Shaji, a writer with Huffington Post, tweeted a photoshopped image of her with a statement: “See how Kerala’s Hindutva fanatic K P Sasikala is using divine invisible threads to stitch mask to fight Corona scare.” A member of the ‘Communist Fraction’ in Kerala media, Shaji is a habitual peddler of fake news, colleagues allege.
The photograph in question relates to a news report in a Malayalam daily which talked about her noble initiative of stitching facemasks to be distributed free of cost to people, as there was a shortage of masks in the state in the wake of COVID-19 outbreak.
The Leftist scribe’s action has not gone down well with many people with many, including some senior journalists, expressing their disapproval. The journalist had earlier worked with The Hindu and The Times of India, according to his Facebook profile.
Meanwhile, Sasikala Teacher is planning to file a complaint against the journalist and ‘Marxist Swami’ Sandipananda Giri (popularly known as Shibu Swamy) for tarnishing her image by spreading fake news.
Although some respondents who replied to the recalcitrant journalist’s tweet questioned his motive of using a photoshopped image to spread fake news, “instead of rectifying the error he was trying to act smart”. “He started pouring more scorn,” said a respondent.
“This is height of vileness on the part of the man who masquerades as a journalist and social activist. He should tender unconditional apology if there is an iota of self-respect in him,” wrote Kavalam Sasikumar, Deputy Editor, Janmabhumi daily.
A former colleague told Indus Scrolls that Shaji is a “vain glorious lout and a despicable character”. “His comments reveal his misogynist mindset. He has a morbid mind of an antham commie,” said the colleague who doesn’t want to be quoted.
