Telangana government has set up a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the reported exchange of fire killing all the four accused in Disha case. The SIT will be headed by Rachakonda police commissioner Mahesh Bhagawat and seven more members of the SP, DCP, DSP, CI and Inspector rank will be the members of the SIT. The state government has issued orders to this effect last evening.
Meanwhile, the NHRC team will continue its probe today in Hyderabad. The team is likely to record statements from the police officials involved in the encounter and may seek reports from various departments. The NHRC team examined the bodies of Disha accused, visited the encounter site and recorded statements of the injured policemen and members of Disha family during the last two days.
On the other hand, the Cyberabad police are preparing to give a detailed report to the NHRC team over Disha incident, rape and her murder besides burning her body and exchange of fire leading to the death of 4 accused. Meanwhile, the State High Court today will take up hearing over the petition regarding the encounter and a decision is likely to come out over handing over the accused bodies to their family members.
