Kerala’s Kasaragod, a district that attracted the nation’s attention because of its presence in the list of first few hotspots in the country has a happy news! As per reports, Tata Group is all set to build a speciality hospital with upto 540 isolation beds and quarantine facility for 450 within the next three months.
The complex will be built using prefabrication techniques, reports say, which allows for fast pace of construction. Dr. Sajith Babu, district collector said. He added that Tata Group is building the hospital as part of its corporate social responsibility initiatives.
Approximately 15 acres of land has been identified in Thekkil village in Chemnad panchayat for building the speciality hospital. The collector in a facebook message requested the public as well as contractors to be a part of the construction work.
However, though the hospital is to be built by Tata Group, district collector who once pathetically failed in controlling the pandemic in the district during the onset, described the hospital as a “gift” from Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Revenue Minister E. Chandrasekharan.
