Senior IPS officer Parambir Singh has been appointed as the Commissioner of Mumbai police today. Mr. Singh is a 1988 batch IPS officer and succeeds Mr. Sanjay Barve on his superannuation today, an official press statement issued stated.
Mr. Singh, currently is the Director General of state’s anti-corruption bureau. The anti-corruption bureau will now be headed by Mr. Bipin K. Singh, a 1990 batch IPS officer.
Meanwhile, senior IPS officer SN Shrivastava today took the additional charge of the Delhi Police Commissioner. He took the charge from Amulya Patnaik who retired today.
A 1985 batch IPS officer, Srivastava is serving as Special Commissioner, Law and Order, in Delhi Police. Speaking to media after taking charge, Mr Srivastava said, his first priority is to bring back peace and communal harmony in the city. He said, strict action will be taken and Delhi Police is registering riot cases, including murder Sections so that these incidents do not happen again.
