Malappuram jihad supporter held for anti-Hindu posts

Askar Kalathinkal, a resident of Malappuram district in Kerala, was arrested for advocating jihad against Hindus through social media.

In his Facebook posts, he supported terror organisations and terrorist activities. According to the police, the posts were highly communal and directed against the Hindus.

The police have been observing him for long after his links with terror organisations were known. Police stepped up surveillance in the wake of the Sri Lankan blasts.

Interestingly, he has been uploading several pro-CPI(M) posts indicating the penetration of jihadi elements in the Marxist party. The CPI(M)-led Left Front government has not been taking any initiative to curb the expansion of jihadi organisations in the state.
