A Christian businessman has built a Siddhi Vinayaka temple in Udupi. Gabriel Nazareth, 77, built the temple in Udupi at a cost of crores. He is also a great devotee of Lord Siddhi Vinayaka.
The temple was built at a cost of Rs 2 crore on 25 cents of inherited land. The temple has a 36-inch black idol of Lord Ganesha. He also built a house for the priest near the temple. The temple is governed by a three-member committee. The committee comprises Nagesh Hegde, a prominent engineer in the area, Ratnakar Kukyan and Satish Shetty, a friend of Gabriel.
Gabriel said that he has been a great devotee of Lord Siddhi Vinayaka for the last 60 years. After passing SSLC in 1959, he went to Mumbai in search of work. He was only 14 years old at the time. When he reached there, he was in Prabhadevi. From then on, Siddhi became a devotee of Vinayaka. He added that Lord Siddhi Vinayaka is behind all his prosperity.
