Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Thursday announced that 84 new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in the state while three others recovered.
This is the first time that highest cases being reported in a day. A total of 1088 cases have therefore confirmed in the state.
18 cases were reported from Kasaragod, 16 in Palakkad, 10 in Kannur, 8 in Malappuram, 7 each in Thiruvananthapuram and Thrissur districts, six in Kozhikode, 6 from Pathanamthitta, 3 from Kottayam and one each from Kollam ,Alappuzha,Idukki.
Of them 31 arrived from abroad while 48 others came from other states.
31 of them came from Maharashtra.
5 people infected through contact.
One death has been reported in the state. The deceased who was a native of Telangana had mistakenly boarded a train for Kerala instead of Telangana.
