While Kerala is going to have its assembly session today, the opposition leaders are preparing for a no-confidence motion against the government on issues like Sprinklr deal, BevQ, sand mining, e-mobility, gold smuggling, Life Mission, privatization of Thiruvananthapuram airport etc.
Though tt is quite sure that the state will witness a stormy session today, the government with a majority need not worry about the no-confidence motion under normal conditions. But the Opposition will push the government to defensive with its allegations.
The session will begin at 9 am and end by 3 pm. While the opposition had sought at least two days for discussion on the no-confidence motion, the Speaker Sreeramakrishnan granted only five hours. The motion will be moved by VD Satheesan MLA.
This is after 15 years, Kerala Assembly is witnessing a no-confidence motion. The last was on July 12, 2005, Kodiyeri Balakrishnan had moved the same against Oommen Chandy government.
