An Indian Army Helicopter crashed at 1 p.m. today near Yonphulla in Bhutan. The chopper went out of radio and visual contact soon after 1 p.m. It was on its way from Khirmu in Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh to Yongfulla on duty.
Ground search and rescue was launched immediately from Yongfulla.
The wreckage has been located and IAF and Army Choppers also launched the Search and Rescue operations. No survivors have been reported from the accident.
The single-engine Cheetah Helicopter was piloted by one Indian and one Royal Bhutanese Army pilots.
Indian Army undertakes the training of pilots also as part of the Indian Army Training Team.
