In a yet another shameful incident, the suspension of a three health workers at the Medical College here, in connection with incident in which a patient was infested with maggots, has been withdrawn.
The suspension was revoked after Director of Medical Education (DME) Ramla Beevi, who was in charge of the inquiry, submitted a report to Health Secretary Rajan Khobragade.
COVID nodal officer Dr Aruna and two head nurses were suspended in connection with the incident. All of three of them were suspended on the basis of the preliminary report given by the DME. Later, doctors and nurses had announced a protest against the suspension.
Vattiyoorkavu native Anil Kumar who was admitted to the Medical College on August 21 was infested with maggots. His family found him in the pathetic state after he was discharged from the hospital and returned home. Following this, they filed a complaint and action was taken against the doctor and nurses.
