Nilambur (Kerala): An entire village in Kerala is reportedly underneath soil due to a landslide that occurred on Thursday at 5 pm. Around 50 people are feared missing after a major landslide occurred in Kavalappara near Nilambur in Kerala.
According to reports, an entire hill was collapsing onto Bhoodhanam colony. Locals informed media that as many as 50 people are feared trapped under debris. No effective rescue operations were carried out here so far, however, reports say that the NDRF team will soon arrive in Kavalappara.
Local MLA told the media that the bodies of two children are recovered yet. He also said a child was dead in the disaster. Currently, ‘Trauma Care’ a charitable organisation is carrying out rescue operations. The area has been isolated and there is no electricity for the last four days.
