Aquil Muhammad Hussain, a doctor in Thrissur Medical College, was arrested with narcotic substances, including MDM. The police have booked him for sale and consumption of narcotic substances. According to the accused, at least 15 doctors in the medical college are heavy addicts of drugs.
Dr Aquil was arrested from his rented accommodation near the medical college. The police have recovered 3 grams of MDM, LSD stamp and hashish oil from his room. His room is said to be a hub for narcotic sale.
Aquil hailing from Kozhikode has sourced drugs from Visakhapattanam and Bengaluru. He has been consuming drugs for the last three years. He used to sell narcotic substances to his colleagues at premium.
Observers say Kerala is fast becoming a hub of drug business. Some time ago, Bishop of Pala had remarked that there is a narcotic jihad in Kerala undertaken by Islamist forces to trap non-Muslims.
