Kerala’s Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala alleged that the leak of information regarding COVID-19 patients in Kannur and Kasaragod is extremely serious.
Chennithala said that this points out that the opposition’s anxieties, about the Sprinklr agreement, is becoming a reality. He accused the government’s complacency and indifference as the reason why the leakage of the data took place. The government had the same complacency while making the agreement with Sprinklr Company. That’s what the opposition had pointed out, said Ramesh Chennithala.
The details of COVID-19 patients including their phone numbers were leaked in both Kannur and Kasaragod. The patients were contacted by Bangalore based hospitals regarding the follow-up treatment. The explanation being provided is that the details leaked from the software that was developed by the police. This raises the question that why did police develop a special system if Sprinklr is collecting the data of the patients and those under observation. Ramesh Chennithala also reminded the government that it has the responsibility of protecting people’s private information.
Ramesh Chennithala has sent a letter to the Chief Minister demanding a CBI investigation on the data leak.
